login as root and enable a minimal set of network services


# svccfg apply /var/svc/profile/generic_limited_net.xml


* As root, create the file /etc/inet/ntp.conf to reference NTP Pool Time Servers

# /etc/inet/ntp.conf MAL 2005-10-31

# sets up reference to NTP Pool Servers

driftfile /etc/inet/ntp.drift

server 0.pool.ntp.org

server 1.pool.ntp.org

server 2.pool.ntp.org

server pool.ntp.org

# end of /etc/inet/ntp.conf


* As root, start the xntp daemon:

# svcadm enable network/ntp


* As root, wait a few minutes and test for similar results:

# ntpq -p
